Kathmandu is on many bucket lists, and for good reason – the capital of Nepal offers a mystical blend of spirituality and culture. In the latest instalment of our Postcards video series, we get under its skin by talking to a range of people who call it home. First, we chat with Namygal Sherpa, the owner of ethical European restaurant Le Sherpa, before stretching out with Dr. Chintamani Gautam at the Nepal Yoga Academy. We then head to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Patan Durbar Square with conservation architect Rohit Ranjitkar to learn more about reconstruction efforts following the 2015 earthquake, before wandering through the city’s colourful local markets with Raj Gyawali, the founder and director of Social Tours. Finally, we discover how one man’s passion for antiques and conservation led to the opening of Dwarika’s Hotel, one of the city’s leading boltholes.
